From Struggling to Lose Weight, to Success and Sustainability.

As a woman who’d never had weight issues in the past, Donna was navigating fairly new territory. Before coming to us almost 2 years ago, she had noticed a gradual weight gain that started in her 40s. Now years later, she struggled to lose the weight. “I couldn’t stop the weight gain in spite of what I’d tried.”

Not only this but she was dealing with some injuries that would prevent her from achieving her goal. “I would hurt myself because I would push too hard.” 

To overcome these obstacles she’d tried many things. She tried diets, working with a personal trainer, gym memberships, etc. Nothing seemed to work in the long run.

With a history of low back pain, Donna and her coach have carefully trained the hip hinge movement. Now she’s learned to successfully hinge at the hips, stabilize her spine and avoid hurting her back when moving and lifting objects.

Structure, support and success

After being introduced to us through another local business that she frequents regularly, Donna liked what she saw and joined as an Evertrain member.

Since then she has enjoyed the structure, support and the emphasis on injury prevention and habit building. After an initial assessment, Donna’s program involved a lot of stretching/mobility, movement coaching and weight lifting. Practicing how to move outside of the gym (i.e. carrying groceries) was just as important as how she moved in the gym. With time she got stronger and more fit.

Donna has been one of Evertrain’s most consistent members. She almost never misses a workout or has to reschedule. Thanks to extraordinary dedication to her health and fitness, she has not only become stronger and more injury resilient (in her low back especially), she’s hit a personal best of 25.7lbs of weight loss and her clothes are looser than ever.

Slow and steady wins the race. Donna has shown a constant effort towards finding new ways to improve. With the help of her coach they have overcome sticky weight loss plateaus and continued to persevere.

The Future is Bright

Donna’s health and fitness future is a bright one. As she’s developed a more fit and fortified body, she’s grown her confidence and is more optimistic going forward. We couldn’t be more proud of her and are so grateful to have her as an Evertrain family member.
